Woman calls cops to report assault, but they say she is the suspect

Officials in San Bernardino County recently arrested a woman who supposedly called to report that she had been attacked, but was actually the suspect.

It happened on Sunday, October 5th in Apple Valley. Officials said Ashley Marie Shields called them to report that she had been attacked by a man in the parking lot outside Apple Valley Smoke Shop.

But after investigating, officers determined that Shields was not a victim but rather their suspect. Officials said she attacked a 32-year-old Apple Valley man.
