Prosecutors say the head of the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department sexually assaulted a woman in a vehicle

Michael Trimarchi, 55, of Manchester, has been charged with sexual assault and criminal sexual contact, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release Tuesday, Oct. 8. Trimarchi is therefore the chief of the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company a Facebook post on Saturday, September 21st.

A woman told Manchester Police on Friday, September 6, that Trimarchi sexually assaulted her on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Investigators from the District Attorney’s Office’s Special Victims Unit determined that Trimarchi attacked the woman while she was sitting in a vehicle.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Trimarchi’s home on Monday, October 7. He was arrested and taken to the county jail to await a detention hearing.
