Apple Valley woman reports assault; Officers investigate and determine she is the suspect – VVNG.com

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 31-year-old Apple Valley woman was arrested after she reported she had been attacked, officials said.

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, officers were dispatched to a report of an assault in the parking lot of the Apple Valley Smoke Shop on State Highway 18.

Deputy G. Guzman responded and contacted the alleged victim who reported she had been assaulted. from the alleged suspect, a 32-year-old man.

Deputy Guzman was assisted by Deputy C. Wingard in collecting evidence and investigating the allegations.

“The investigation revealed that the victim who reported the assault was the actual attacker and the male subject was the victim. Both parties suffered minor injuries. The female suspect was examined by medical personnel prior to being transported to jail and the victim refused medical treatment,” sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.

Ashley Maire Shields was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. On Monday, October 7, 2024, the Victorville District Attorney’s Office charged Shields with felony PC 245(a)(1), Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
