Bomb scare at the American Dream Mall on Tuesday evening

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – A bomb scare occurred at the American Dream mall Tuesday evening, prompting New Jersey State Police to send out a mass text message alert warning people to avoid the mall, according to the Secaucus Mayor Mike Gonnelli.

A possible bomb or explosive was found in the mall, possibly in one of the parking decks, the mayor said.

He said state police have called in Secaucus police for backup and Secaucus police are currently on the scene along with canine units.

State police just sent out a mass text alert warning people to avoid American Dream and asking people at the mall to vacate the mall immediately.
