1 dead in house fire in Chisholm

CHISHOLM, Minn. (Northern News Now) – A man died in a house fire in the Iron Range.

According to Chisholm Police, the Chisholm Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 100 block of First Street NW in Chisholm on Monday at approximately 9:25 p.m.

The home sustained significant damage, although the extent was not specified.

A man was rescued from the upstairs, life-saving measures were performed and he was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At this time the cause of death is unknown.

Authorities are awaiting the results of the Hennepin County coroner’s report.

The victim’s name has not been released.
