An accident at a North Wilkesboro lumber company left one man dead on Monday afternoon, October 7th.

Sent in a press release to The Wilkes Record On Tuesday, Major Logan Kerr of the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office said:

“On Monday, October 7, 2024, at 2:55 p.m., the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to High Country Lumber and Mulch, 1461Speedway Road, North Wilkesboro, for a death investigation. Upon arrival, officers met with medical personnel at the scene who stated that the victim, Jeremy Edward Roberts, 34, of North Wilkesboro, had been fatally injured by a machine and had died.
