The head of the NYC District Attorney’s Office was fired for pressuring his subordinates to support her in an online beauty pageant: “Did you vote today?”

A Bronx district attorney’s boss pressured his subordinates to vote for her in an online beauty contest “Fab Over 40” – a horrific abuse of power that ultimately cost her her $160,000-a-year job, a report says.

According to Gothamist, Jessica Rosado was head of the DA’s Crime Victims Assistance Bureau when she became so obsessed with winning the competition last October that she sent message after message to dozens of underlings asking for help.

Rosado was reportedly seeking a cash prize of $40,000, a spa vacation and a magazine report.

Jessica Rosado, the former head of the Bronx District Attorney’s Office’s Crime Victims Assistance Bureau, was fired after she pressured her subordinates to vote for her in an online beauty pageant.

“Hello from the Mediterranean,” Rosado wrote in a group message on WhatsApp to 22 employees on November 13, while she was apparently on vacation.

“I have limited service but wanted to remind you to continue voting for me every 24 hours [smiley face emoji]” she said. “This week is very important. Top 5. Thanks team!”

Weeks earlier, Rosado had used her Bronx district attorney’s email account to send the contest page link to 37 workers, encouraging them to “vote daily if you feel like it.”

“Feel free to share with your friends/family,” she added.

On another occasion, Rosado sent an email to 38 employees asking, “Did you vote today?”

Rosado was trying to win a $40,000 cash prize, a spa vacation and a magazine feature.

“Please vote every 24 hours and share with friends and family if you like,” she wrote.

In the end, 17 of her subordinates voted for her — and four of them also donated a combined $81 to purchase additional votes, as the contest allowed, Gothamist said.

She didn’t win.

Rosado was fired April 5 because of her behavior, the DA’s office said.

She admitted her wrongdoing in a settlement with the city’s conflict of interest committee that was made public late last week, the outlet reported.

Rosado was found to have violated the city’s conflict of interest law.

The board found that she had violated the city’s conflict of interest law, which states that no official may use his or her government position to gain financial or personal gain.

Rosado had worked in the DA’s office since October 2021, earning a salary of approximately $160,000.

The Ethics Committee could have imposed further penalties, but decided that her dismissal was punishment enough.
