Philadelphia police officers have arrested a man and charged him with murder after a man was stabbed and left to die on a West Philly street on August 19, 2024.

According to police, officers arrested Calvin Lewis, 45, of West Philadelphia, after he was found around noon on Tuesday, August 8, 2024, in the 400 block of Turner Street in North Philadelphia.

Lewis has been charged with murder and related offenses in an attack that officials say occurred Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, in the 300 block of North Simpson Street.

That day, at approximately 5:40 a.m., police say officers were dispatched to that block to find 59-year-old Alfred Robinson suffering from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.

Officials said Robinson was interviewed at the scene around 5:49 a.m. that day.

Police officials believe Robinson was stabbed at a home on that block and ran outside, where he collapsed. During further investigation, a knife was found on the first floor of a nearby house.

Court documents did not list an attorney for Lewis or indicate when he would next appear in court.
