Great British Baking Show too tame? Try a bloody alternative

The Great British Baking Show has become such a popular television show in recent years, largely because the British import is like a good cup of British tea: relaxing and warm. It’s a weekend tradition for me when new episodes appear on Netflix every fall (The Great British Baking Show 2024 is currently releasing new episodes weekly. But this time of year is also a scary time. So if you enjoy baking shows but also love the jump scares and blood-curdling screams of the horror genre, then there’s actually a show you’ll definitely want to check out: Killer cake.

Streaming on Freevee (which is available to all viewers free of charge via the TV app or online via Prime Video), Killer cake Four teams of professional bakers and horror fans compete by baking bloody, disgusting and delicious cakes. The winner takes home $20,000. The show is hosted by horror film legend Matthew Lillard (Scream).
