A Fort Wayne man wanted for three years in prison for child molestation has been arrested in Philadelphia

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) — A 38-year-old Fort Wayne man wanted on child molestation charges since 2021 was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Kevin Weatherbe is awaiting extradition to Fort Wayne to face three child molestation charges and two other felony charges filed against him three years ago.

According to the affidavit in the case, Weatherbe is accused of molesting a boy in fifth through eighth grade. The boy explained during an interview on Dr. Bill Lewis Center for Children, what the three years of abuse were like.

The boy’s mother and brother told police about incidents that were suspected to be related to sexual abuse, court records show. A friend of the boy also told police that the victim mentioned the abuse to her.

The charges against Weatherbe carry a potential prison sentence of more than 100 years.
