Hobbs police are searching for a murder suspect

HOBBS, N.M. (KOSA) – Hobbs Police are searching for a woman accused of removing her GPS monitoring device.

Officials say 21-year-old Alexis Saenz was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide in November 2023, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Adeja Baca.

Hobbs police report that Saenz was released earlier this year on conditions of GPS monitoring.

Saenz was scheduled for an Oct. 4 hearing for violating her conditions of release, but she failed to appear and her GPS monitoring system was subsequently removed.

According to police, she now has an outstanding arrest warrant from the 5th District Court.

Saenz is 1.70 m tall and weighs 50 kg, has brown eyes and brown hair.

If you have any information, call detectives at (575) 397-9265.

You may also contact Lea County Crime Stoppers at (575) 393-8005 and may be eligible for a cash reward.

According to HPD, you can send a private message to the Hobbs Police Department Facebook page. However, keep in mind that monitoring is not real-time and is not a good way to report crimes in real time.
