Garth Brooks on sexual assault allegation: “Take a deep breath”

Garth Brooks spoke briefly about the sexual assault and battery charges against him during an episode of his Facebook Live show on Monday night (October 7). In Studio G.

It was the first time he spoke directly to fans about the allegations, although he issued a formal response via CNN the same day the lawsuit was made public last Thursday (October 3).

He addressed the allegations right at the beginning of his hearing In Studio G video and cautioned that he couldn’t say much about the currently developing lawsuit.

“A lot has happened in the last two weeks. “Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we?” says Brooks (see below).

“This thing is ongoing. It will happen,” he confirms, adding that his lawsuit will likely be a long process. “People tell me it could take up to two years.”

“So my suggestion is that we all take a deep breath, just get comfortable and hold hands and take a journey together,” Brooks continues. “Because it’s something we can’t talk about. That’s all we can say about it.”

For the rest of the 25 minutes In Studio G In the video, Brooks declined to speak further about the allegations. Instead, he focused on talking about his work with Habitat for Humanity, his recent series of Las Vegas residency shows, and his continued gratitude and love for his fans.

He also spoke glowingly about his wife, Trisha Yearwood, throughout the video: in particular, he praised her commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s work and shared how impressed he was with her skills with power tools and building stairs during construction.

Brooks has been vocal about his love and admiration for his wife for years, but their relationship is currently under particular scrutiny as fans wonder how she would respond to the allegations against her superstar husband.
