Funeral for Wise County deputy killed in crash Tuesday – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The funeral will be held Tuesday for a Wise County deputy who died in an on-duty accident.

Friends and family will gather to remember 26-year-old Deputy Lex Allen Love, who was responding to a call about a car accident on County Road 4421 when he collided with a concrete barrier while driving through a construction zone.

Other responders were nearby when Love crashed and were able to stop and administer first aid.

The funeral for Lex Love, a Wise County deputy who died in an on-duty accident, will be Tuesday. NBC 5’s Larry Collins has the details.

Love was said to be unresponsive as he was pulled from his vehicle. Wise County EMS paramedics transported Love to Medical City Decatur, where he later died.

The Sheriff’s Department described Love as “an incredibly nice young deputy” who first worked as a jailer for the Sheriff’s Department years ago.

He attended the police academy sponsored by the Decatur Police Department. After graduating, Love worked as a patrol officer for a few years before returning to the sheriff’s department last April.
