Man stabbed in Bridgeton attack, woman blown up, house fire: police

Bridgeton police responded to a 27-year-old man who arrived at Inspira Hospital on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 5, the department said in a news release. Officers learned the man was an assault victim who suffered “non-life-threatening” stab wounds.

According to investigators, the stabbing occurred at a home in the 100 block of Oak Street. Firefighters responded after officers saw heavy smoke inside the home and firefighters extinguished the fire.

A 34-year-old woman suffered smoke inhalation and was flown to Temple University Hospital. Three of their children – eight, seven and two years old – were in the house but were not injured in the fire.

The man and woman were released from hospitals. As of Tuesday, October 8, there have been no arrests.
