Three helicopter medical team members died in tragic crash in Kentucky

Three members of a helicopter medical team tragically died in a crash in Kentucky on October 7th. Air Evac Lifeteam, the company that operates the service, announced the devastating news in a statement on Facebook.

The company said the crew was traveling from Grant County, Kentucky, to assist a patient when the accident occurred. “We were notified of the accident by local law enforcement shortly after the accident occurred,” the statement said. “Air Evac Lifeteam is heartbroken to announce that three crew members from AEL Base 133 died in a helicopter accident in Owenton, Kentucky today.”

The Air Evac Lifeteam described the incident as “a terribly tragic accident” and expressed its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the deceased crew members. The company stressed that its primary focus is supporting those affected, stating: “Critical incident stress management teams have been deployed to support our team members during this difficult time.”

At this time, the names of the crew members involved in the crash have not been released and the company requested privacy for their families. “AEL will work closely with the FAA and NTSB during the investigation,” the statement concluded.
