The latest edition of the TV Drama Screenings Festival highlights some of the hottest new and returning scripted films available today. Sourced from around the world, these films run the gamut, from crime and suspense to romance, dark comedy and more.

Broadcast on ITV, JoanIntroducing the highlights of All3Media International’s TV Drama Screenings Festival, tells the true story of Britain’s most notorious jewel thief, Joan Hannington. “With game of Thrones“Sophie Turner, this new drama is brought to the screen by an outstanding creative team including: The thief, his wife and the canoe Director Richard Laxton and Ms. Wilson Author Anna Symon,” says Jennifer Askin, senior VP of North America. “After pre-sales across six continents and with a host of premium partners including US co-producer The CW, CBC and BritBox, Joan is a thrilling, compelling and emotional drama that we would like to continue to introduce to international buyers.” Askin also highlights the three-parter Lost boys and fairies“which explores the universal themes of family, love and parenthood through the lens of gay adoption,” says Askin, adding: “Given the impressive international sales round recently announced, including the acquisition of BritBox in the US, we are thrilled to see this. “Remarkable series travel to such premium partners around the world.”

Leading Distribution Partners (LDP) aims its MIPCOM offering at the healthy appetite for films. The lineup includes My Norwegian vacation. “Set in the enchanting city of Bergen, Norway, this heartwarming holiday film follows Lukas and JJ as they navigate family tensions and personal challenges,” said Gavin Tyler Reardon, president of global distribution. Sealed with a listIt’s now a “charming, feel-good story,” says Reardon. “LDP is excited to bring a diverse range of content to MIPCOM this year, showcasing a wide range of genres that appeal to an international audience.”

All3Media International is best known for its British drama series and is also coming to MIPCOM with Australian offerings such as the six-part series Critical incident. “We are excited to collaborate with leading partners in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in Australia, where Matchbox Pictures, a storytelling powerhouse, brought this project to life,” said Tony Ziran Tang, VP of Sales for China , Japan and South Korea and Taiwan. “Critical incident is a psychological crime thriller that delves deep into universal themes such as police work, justice, crime and morality. With a cast led by Akshay Khanna and Zoë Boe, powerful performances bring true authenticity to the story and take the series to a whole new level.” Tang will also introduce Company Pictures’ detective drama to its Asia Pacific clients Elliswhich “has key elements that resonate across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond,” he says.

While Spain is celebrated as a “Land of Honor” at MIPCOM, the region’s strong capabilities will be showcased across a variety of genres, including compelling scripted series. The content distribution department of Atresmedia Televisión arrives in Cannes Eva & Nicolewhich Jose Antonio Salso, Head of Acquisitions and International Sales, describes as a “visually stunning drama that brings the vibrant nightlife of 1980s Marbella to life with glamour, extravagance and intrigue”.
