Broomfield Hospital employee’s trial for ‘sexually assaulting’ woman reported

Ravi Dogra, prosecuting, said Mr Jose was normally posted at the hospital’s burns ward but was transferred to the Notley ward that day due to staff shortages.

There was also no nurse or supervisor who could have helped the alleged victim, he added.

Mr Dogra said the accused, who was arrested that evening, had “poor English skills”.

“He’ll say he did it [the complainant’s] “I agreed to wipe them and he did,” the prosecutor continued.

“As far as he knew, he didn’t penetrate her at all.”

The trial, expected to last four days, continues.
