Ballistics recovered following early morning shooting incident in Newark’s West Ward

Police are investigating a shooting incident early Tuesday morning in Newark’s West Ward.

Gunfire occurred near 275 14th Avenue around 12:50 p.m.

Responding officers found shell casings near the Ashland Street side of 14th Avenue, but after a thorough search of the area, no injuries were reported.

Authorities have not announced any arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
