Deshaun Watson reaches agreement with latest sexual assault accuser

According to multiple reports, Deshaun Watson has settled the recent civil lawsuit against him for sexual assault.

The latest allegation came last month and stemmed from an alleged incident that occurred in 2020 when the unnamed plaintiff went on a date with the Browns quarterback.

“We have now resolved our client’s claim with Deshaun Watson,” the alleged victim’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, told Cleveland.com. “The settlement is confidential.”

According to the statement of claim filed in September, the lawsuit sought $1 million in damages.

Buzbee has now represented 24 women who have made allegations of sexual assault or misconduct against the quarterback, all of which ended in settlements.

The 29-year-old Watson issued a strong denial at the time through his lawyer Rusty Hardin.

“Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the Jane Doe lawsuit filed Monday,” Hardin said in a statement. “We have asked him not to comment further while the matter is heard in court but are confident he will ultimately be vindicated.”

“We will be prepared to defend this case in court in due course, but have no intention of conducting our defense in the media. We would ask people to be patient as the legal process unfolds. In the meantime, Deshaun will focus his energy and focus on football.”

There are still two lawsuits pending against Watson.

The most recent case was investigated by the NFL, but multiple reports indicated that due to the confidential nature of the settlement, the league may not get an opportunity to interview the plaintiff and the investigation will therefore be closed.

Watson was suspended 11 games by the NFL in 2022 in connection with the massage therapist sexual misconduct allegations, which also included a $5 million fine and an order to complete a treatment program.

Watson has been a complete disaster for the Browns since they acquired him in a bomb trade in 2022, signing him to a fully guaranteed $230 million deal.

The Browns are 1-4 and travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles on Sunday.
