Confrontation between employees and customers ends in shooting at ShopRite in Olney: police

PHILADELPHIA – A collision between a grocery store employee and a customer occurred late Monday evening in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The 23-year-old employee was found shot to death in the ShopRite parking lot on Olney Avenue around 11:30 p.m

According to police, a 30-year-old customer was leaving the store when he got into a confrontation in the parking lot with the employee who was returning the shopping carts.

According to police, the customer fired two shots, hitting the employee twice in the stomach.

The customer, who according to the police had a transport permit, was brought in for questioning.
