Man arrested after crossbow fired at house in Hull

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a crossbow was fired at a house in Hull, Humberside Police said.

Officers were called to Victoria Avenue at around 10:40pm BST on Monday.

Police said a 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was also being held on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The criminal police have requested the release of all video recordings of the incident.

Det Insp Jason Gourley said: “Thankfully no one was physically injured, however the occupants were understandably shaken by the events of last night.

“I understand that an incident of this nature will naturally cause concern among the public. However, as part of our initial investigation, I would like to assure that those involved are known to each other.”

Police remained at the scene and encouraged anyone with concerns to speak to them.
