A teenager’s dog searches for her after her tragic death

A teenager who died in a buggy rollover in regional Victoria is being remembered as someone who “brought joy and love” to those around her.

Charlee Neven, 13, and a 47-year-old man were both found dead after a buggy overturned on a property in Tubbut just before 11pm on Saturday.

A second minor passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while another adult passenger – believed to be Charlee’s father – was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The 13-year-old’s dog “continues to look for her” after the accident.

“On Saturday, October 5th, we lost our beautiful Choo in a tragic accident,” reads a Go Fund Me page set up for Charlee’s family.

“It was not reckless or part of a ‘big family reunion’ as the media reported. It was a tragic accident that left two people dead and a father and son enduring the hardest day of their lives.

“She goes into mourning for the best mother in the world, her brothers who love her beyond measure, and her Wally Walter sausage dog who is always looking for her.”

Charlee was also described as someone who “brought joy and love” to those around her.

“She was the light and sunshine in our family and to her friends and community,” the fundraiser said.

“She brought joy and love as she conquered every adventure she could find.”

The fundraiser was created to give Charlee’s family “some time to grieve without worrying about paying bills and to help pay for the funeral.”
