Pedestrian dies in crash in Beaufort County

BEAUFORT COUNTY, Sc. (WTOC) – One person is dead after a crash in Beaufort County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 9 p.m. Monday night on Highway 17 and Trask Parkway outside of Beaufort.

A 2009 Lexus Sedan and a pedestrian were going north on 17 when the driver of the Sedan hit the person.

The person died in the crash. The sedan driver was taken a hospital for injuries.

No other people or cars were involved. There’s no word yet if charges will be filed in the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
