Vehicle bursts into flames after accident in Ansonia

ANSONIA, Conn. (WFSB) – A car crashed and burst into flames in Ansonia Monday night.

The driver left the road around 10:45 p.m., crossed the sidewalk at the intersection of Kingston Drive and East Main Street and collided with several parked vehicles before catching fire.

The driver, the only person in the car, was rescued by residents of a nearby apartment complex.

He suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is still being determined, the police said.
