Tragic Gurukul fire in Bundi: 2 boys die of burn injuries | Jaipur News

Kota: Two of the three boys were injured in a fire at a gurukul in Talwas village of Bundi district succumbed last week Burns during treatment. One of the boys died at SMS Hospital in Jaipur on Sunday evening and the other died at MBS Hospital in Kota on Monday morning.
Shivshankar Sharma (13) of Baran district, who was referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur last Thursday with 90% burn injuries, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday evening during treatment, Shankar Lal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nainwan Circle, said on Monday.
Another boy, Ritesh Sharma (13) from Bundi, who was treated for 60% burns at MBS Hospital in Kota, succumbed to his injuries late on Monday morning, he added.
Meanwhile, the third injured boy, Abhijeet Sharma (12) of Bamboli village, Nainwan in Bundi district, is undergoing treatment at MBS Hospital in Kota, he said.
Based on the report of the parents of the deceased boy Shivshankar, the police filed a case under Sections 106, 118, 125 and 125 (A) of the BNS against the steering committee and director of the Gurukul educational institute and initiated an investigation, the DSP said.
The two bodies were handed over to family members on Monday after post-mortem, Lal said.
According to police, the fire at Gurukul in Talwas village was caused by sparks from neem leaves burnt as mosquito repellent late on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, the district education department claimed to have nothing to do with the department.
“The gurukul in Talwas was not registered with the education ministry or any government agency. He was registered by a Vedic institute in Ujjain,” said Mahaveer Prasad Sharma, chief education officer of Bundi district.
