Prime Day deals include the Echo Show 8 at an all-time low price

October’s Prime Day brought a slew of sales for Amazon’s own technology, including its Echo smart displays. These deals include an all-time low price on one of our top picks for the best smart displays, the Echo Show 8. You can buy this mid-range model for $85, which is $65 off its regular price. We’d say it’s always a good deal when you can get the Show 8 for under $100, but this is the best price we’ve ever seen, and it’s this cheap since Prime Day in July no longer.

We think this is the best smart display with Alexa compatibility because it combines many practical features and is almost Goldilocks in size. The Show 8 features an 8-inch 1,280 x 800 resolution touchscreen that’s just large enough to see recipes clearly and watch videos comfortably without being too large to take up too much space on a countertop or would take up a side table.

The Show 8 features an improved 13-megapixel camera with auto-cropping, making for better video calls with friends and family. The camera can also act as a security device, allowing you to check in on your home while on the go. And when you’re not using it or just want more privacy, there’s a physical shutter that completely covers the camera.

Of course, devices like the Show 8 are designed to showcase Alexa’s talents. You can use the voice assistant from the smart display to check weather forecasts, check your calendar to see when your next appointment is, watch the show you watched on Netflix, and more. This model also features a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, allowing you to directly connect smart home devices such as smart bulbs and sockets without the need for an additional hub. And if these IoT devices have Alexa Smarts, you can also control them with voice commands.

If you’re looking for something a little more bedside table friendly, there are other Alexa smart displays currently on sale too. The Echo Show 5 is down to $50, while the recently revived Echo Spot is down to $45. The former is also one of our favorites thanks to its compact design, ambient light sensor and sunrise alarm function. The Echo Spot only returned to the product range a few months ago and is described by Amazon as a real smart alarm clock. It has a cute, round design with an eye-catching crescent-shaped screen that can display the time, weather, alarms, now playing music, and more.
