Ballot language: Section 1 of House Bill 1402, passed by the Nebraska Legislature in 2024, provides $10 million in annual funding for educational grants to cover the cost of educating eligible students attending non-public, privately operated elementary and secondary schools to visit in Nebraska, in whole or in part.

Should Section 1 of Bill 1402 be repealed?

This measure would

  • With a vote to KEEP, Section 1 of House Bill 1402, enacted by the Nebraska Legislature in 2024, remains in effect. Section 1 of House Bill 1402 provides $10 million annually to fund educational scholarships to cover all or part of the cost of educating eligible students attending non-public, privately operated elementary and secondary schools in Nebraska.
  • A vote to “REPEAL” repeals the funding and scholarship provisions in Section 1 of House Bill 1402.
