Joker: Folie à Deux director Todd Phillips explains the shocking ending

Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga got together for the first time Joker: Folie à Deux which is directed by Todd Phillips. The film opened to good reception but has since fizzled out. Every passing day was sad for the makers as fans were extremely disappointed with the story. The film begins where the first film ended.

The film ends with Joker’s death. The murder trial at the center of the film ended explosively when a bomb exploded and destroyed the courtroom. Arthur Fleck decided to defend himself and confessed that the Joker was not a split personality. He said he knew everything he had done and was guilty of the murders he committed.

When the ending was criticized, Todd Phillips told Entertainment Tonight: “He realized that everything is so corrupt that it will never change and that the only way to fix it is to burn everything down. “ Read WION’s review of the film here

The director further explained, “If those guards kill the child [hospital] He realizes that putting on makeup and putting this thing on doesn’t change anything. In a way, he has accepted the fact that he has always been Arthur Fleck; He was never this thing that was imposed on him, this idea that the people of Gotham imposed on him, that he represents.” He added: “He’s an ignorant icon. This thing has been put on him and he doesn’t want to live as a fake anymore – he wants to be who he is.”

Todd also clarifies that the scenes between Harley Quinn and Joker in Joker: Folie à Deux were not part of the latter’s fantasy. The director said it wasn’t a figment of Arthur’s imagination, but “actually it’s really happening.”
