Pedestrian killed in vehicle crash on Neuse Boulevard in New Bern, investigation ongoing

Police are investigating a fatal vehicle accident involving a pedestrian that occurred Tuesday in New Bern.

At approximately 7:42 p.m., officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Neuse Boulevard and Degraffenreid Avenue involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian.

The vehicle was traveling east on Neuse Boulevard when it struck a person who died at the scene.

The New Bern Police Department Traffic Unit is actively investigating the incident.

The names of those involved will be kept secret until the investigation is completed.
