Important Colorado voter registration deadlines for the 2024 election

The deadline to register to vote in Colorado in this year’s general election is approaching. And according to the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, “How you register to vote affects how you receive your ballot.”

On November 8, 2022, ballots will be passed through the Denver Elections Division’s ballot sorting system.

If you want to receive a ballot in the mail, as is standard practice in Colorado elections, you must register by October 28th. This is the eighth day before Election Day.

Coloradans can register to vote online at the GoVoteColorado.gov website. There are also other ways to register. Colorado residents can also:

– Send an application by mail. Letters should be sent to Colorado Secretary of State, Attn: Voting Systems, 1700 Broadway.
Ste. 550, Denver, CO 80290.
– Submit an application to a Colorado voter registration agency.
– Submit an application to a local driving test.

Voter registration campaigns are currently taking place across the country. Registering for one of these election events is another way to register to vote in Colorado.

If you wait to register until after Oct. 28, you must do so in person “by Election Day at a voter services and polling place in your county,” according to the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office. You can register in person until election day, November 5th.

Mail-in ballots for registered voters will be mailed starting Friday.

Polling stations open at 7 a.m. on election day and close at 7 p.m
