A man was flown to the hospital after he was seriously injured in an electric scooter accident in Woodstock on Sunday evening, fire officials said.

The Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the area of Route 14 and Doty Road in Woodstock around 5:40 p.m. Sunday for a report of an accident with injuries.

Alex Vucha, communications specialist for the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District, said it was reported that a male victim was on the ground after an apparent electric scooter accident.

Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and located the man still on the ground on the west shoulder of Route 14, west of Doty Road.

The electric scooter was the only vehicle involved in the accident.

An ambulance transported the man to nearby Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Woodstock.

Vucha said the helicopter landed at the hospital’s helipad and the patient was transferred to the helicopter.
