CTA bus shooting in Chicago: 16-year-old pedestrian shot in the 8600 block of South State Street in Chatham, police said

CHICAGO (WLS) – A 16-year-old passerby was injured in a shooting on a CTA bus Monday night that resulted in an argument, Chicago police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred just before 5:30 p.m. in the 8600 block of South State Street in the Chatham neighborhood

Two women were arguing when one of them pulled out a gun and fired shots, police said.

The shots hit a 16-year-old boy, who suffered a graze wound to his knee.

The Chicago Fire Department treated the victim and released him at the scene.

No one is in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.

Police did not initially provide any further information about the shooting.
