Moira makes a worrying decision that could lead to a tragic ending in Emmerdale | Soap

Cain Dingle star Jeff Hordley reflects on filming the funeral episode:

“There are really poignant moments in it.” And while we were filming, we were all focused and gave the script everything it needed. But even off camera – and Steve would have enjoyed this because Steve always liked to giggle off camera – we made sure to have a few laughs while we weren’t out and about.

“Because when we get together as a group, we make sure that filming is fun.” What I mean by that is that not only was the mood bad, we also made sure we had a lot of fun, and Steve would have it not wanted any other way.”

Mandy Dingle actress Lisa Riley said:

“The best thing for us as a Dingle family was the way the production ran. From Laura (Shaw), our producer, who has known us for years and grew up with us, and then from Peter Kerry, who wrote the script and was part of the Dingles development team all those years ago. Finally, Jeff Naylor, our director, directed the very first episode of Steve Halliwell and Zak! So it’s all there, it’s so nostalgic! Of course it was the biggest blessing for us as a family and we are so happy that everything worked out the way it did.”

“When you think of Steve Halliwell and the character Zak, you always think of his love of music. So the team did a great job of integrating their music into this episode. “Zak’s love of music and nostalgia are visible to viewers.”

Lucy Pargeter aka Chas Dingle:

“Working with Steve was like the fun of being in kindergarten every day.” I can’t remember a serious day or a day when he ever got upset or upset about anything. With Steve it never felt like a workday, it was just like the principal was in the class and he was just saying, “Let’s all have fun!”

Sam Dingle star James Hooton:

“I have so many great memories of Zak.” I loved the really silly, incredible stuff we did in the ’90s. One memory is of a crying Elvis doll that the Dingles tried to convince people was something like a crying Mary Magdalene. It was a doll they stole from a second-hand clothing store and used to make money.

“Another hilarious story that comes to mind is when they tried to send Butch into orbit, the most incredible act at the time, but we always tried to execute it with pathos and believability.” Previously brought It made us laugh so much that sometimes it became difficult to get through a scene.”

Belle Dingle star Eden Taylor-Draper says:

“To me, Steve was the funniest man ever!” He was a really strange combination of father figure, best friend, standup comedian and advisor. He was everything. It really feels like he lives on because we have all the characteristics of him; Our sense of humor or things that connect us, and so every day when we’re together it feels like Steve is still part of the conversation or moment.”
