“Letters have already been sent” – Fulham receives inquiry as player earmarked for return to national team

Fulham’s Raul Jimenez was not part of Mexico’s Copa America squad earlier this year and last played for the country about 11 months ago.

While this helps Fulham somewhat as it allows him to concentrate on his club duties, the striker could soon become an important part of the Mexican team again.

According to La Opinion, Jimenez will soon return to the national team squad and “letters” have already been sent to Fulham to inform them that the player will be called up. Meixcan club AVS also announced that veteran Guillermo Ochoa will return to El Tri.

Jimenez’s return to the Mexican team is expected to be officially announced in the next few days. Coach Javier Aguirre will have the striker in the squad for the upcoming games against Valencia and the USA.

Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, who is an important part of the Mexican team, will be out due to injury but that is now the only reason the Fulham player is returning.

The 33-year-old has impressed in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals. Those goals have come in the last three games and Jimenez is Mexico’s in-form striker.
