Itasca County Sheriff’s Office patrol car overturned in crash

ITASCA COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – An Itasca County Sheriff’s Office deputy was taken to the hospital after an accident involving a pickup truck Monday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 34-year-old Alex Miles Bamberg was driving his truck east on Highway 2. As Bamberg approached the intersection with 8th Avenue in the city of Grand Rapids, he collided with an Itasca County Sheriff’s Office patrol car in a T-bone crash.

43-year-old Anthony Joseph Meyer was taken to Grand Itasca Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bamberg also has minor injuries, but was not taken to hospital.

According to the accident report, airbags deployed in both vehicles and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
