Angel Studios plans to release its next true story drama Brave the Dark in January

The film is based on the true story of co-author Nathaniel Deen, who eventually took the last name of teacher Stan Deen after he changed his life. The film stars Emmy nominee Jared Harris of “Chernobyl” fame as Stan, who witnesses Nathan (Nicholas Hamilton) being arrested outside his classroom.

Determined to help Nathan turn his life around, Stan finds the teenager alone in his car. Their encounter challenges Stan’s beliefs as they embark on a life-changing journey together.

Angel Studios entered the cinema scene with the 2023 indie hit “Sound of Freedom,” which grossed $250 million at the global box office. Since then, the studio has implemented plans to release four to six films per year, with most aimed at major holiday release periods.
