Police evacuate buildings in downtown Minneapolis after shots were fired

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police evacuated a downtown building after reports of gunfire Monday afternoon.

“MPD is on scene at 10 Block of E Grant for reports of shots fired inside a building,” the agency said in a statement at 4:05 p.m. “MPD is evacuating residents for safety reasons. MPD asks everyone to stay away from the area for police operations.

About 40 minutes later, police said in an update that an adult male was taken into custody with minor injuries.

There are no other reported injuries. Police continue to ask everyone to stay away from the area while the investigation continues.
