Alyssa Farah Griffin of The View: Trump is trying to intimidate North Carolina voters into voting for him

“There is so much misinformation and disinformation in this election cycle. It’s actually scary,” Farah Griffin said Monday.

She added: “And now they’re being lied to and saying, ‘There’s no relief for you.’ There has actually been a decline in volunteers because volunteers feel there are not enough resources to support the effort.”

The former Trump White House communications director’s comments came in response to the show segment’s opening video montage, which featured clips of the Republican presidential candidate and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), calling out the Federal Emergency Management Agency Criticized for claiming they are running out of money for hurricane relief.

Biden Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned reporters last Wednesday that the agency does not have enough resources to weather hurricane season.

When this news broke about FEMA’s dwindling relief funds as numerous states were still conducting rescue and recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene, the discussion about FEMA’s spending on immigrant resettlement became a lightning-fast political issue.

Farah Griffin continued to blame Trump for a “decline in volunteers” because “volunteers think there isn’t enough money to support the effort.”

She also said that the Trump campaign’s messaging is forcing FEMA to use its resources to “run this live blog that debunks myths in real time.”

FEMA has created a response page on its website to attempt to fact-check the agency’s Hurricane Helene assistance, who is eligible for assistance, and to answer any questions related to hurricane season funding expose.

“It just distracts from the effort to save lives, and I will say this: Donald Trump is doing this for political reasons. North Carolina is a battleground state,” Farah Griffin said.

The view The co-host added: “Right now he wants to get voters in North Carolina to support him – believing that the Biden-Harris administration is not helping them.”

“He proves every day why he is so unfit for office,” she said.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg also criticized Trump’s statements about FEMA funds going to migrants.

“Not a dime of disaster relief went toward relocating migrants or anyone else,” Goldberg said, calling Trump’s claims a “blatant lie.”

“I just don’t know what else they can accuse immigrants of,” chimed in co-host Ana Navarro. “Are they going to blame immigrants for the fact that Donald Trump has five strands of hair left on his head?” It’s just the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.”

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said Sunday that recent criticism of her agency is “dangerous.”

“It has a huge impact on the wellbeing of our own employees. … When you hear this dangerous rhetoric, it creates fear among our own employees,” Criswell said on ABC This week.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) also clapped back at NBC host Kristen Welker on Sunday when she claimed that “the idea that FEMA funds are being diverted to migrants” is not true.

“It is true that FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security have spent billions of dollars on migrants,” the senator said. “We just passed a short-term spending bill that is very common for the United States [Biden-Harris] I will call on the administration to come and ask for permission to move money between funds, especially to be prepared for emergencies. This government seems to have no problem finding money when it wants to spend it on its priorities.”

Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC) on Sunday tried to blame “a relentless maelstrom of disinformation” from “bad actors and platforms like X.”

“We must work together to rebuild and recover from a catastrophic disaster like this – and spreading false information to sow chaos hurts real people.” Politicians, billionaires and fraudsters who spread lies in times of crisis should stand up “Be held accountable,” Cooper wrote on Platform X.

“Their incompetence is a fact, not disinformation,” one social media user retorted.

The former president didn’t stop Monday from continuing to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris for his handling of the hurricane recovery.

“The great people of North Carolina are supported by Harris and Biden giving almost all FEMA money to illegal immigrants in what is now considered the WORST bailout in US history. In addition, billions of dollars go abroad! NORTH CAROLINA WAS PRACTICALLY ABANDONED BY KAMALA!!! Drop her like she dropped you – VOTE FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP. MAGA2024!” he wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump had to postpone his planned Univision town hall in Miami on Tuesday because Hurricane Milton is expected to hit Florida this week.
