SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: CONFUSING VARIETY

A Ford F150 ignored a red light, possibly didn’t hear the police siren, and drove the wrong way through an alley and one-way street before finally entering an exit ramp onto the Dallas North Tollway before 1:10 a.m. on Oct. 13. 5 during a chase that began in 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane.

UNIVERSITY PARK

30 Monday

A burglar caused a double whammy when he stole golf clubs and a bag from a 2000 Jeep Cherokee around 5:53 p.m Windsor Parkway.

A greedy thief stole several groceries from CVS Snider Plaza around 9:36 p.m

1 Tuesday

The officers responded McCulloch Intermediate/Highland Park Middle School Campus around 10:38 a.m. after a student displayed a steak knife at school.

2 Wednesday

Reported at 4:12 p.m Bryn Mawr Drive: Indecent exposure that occurred on September 18 between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m.

3 Thursday

A burglar broke into a medical facility Preston Rd and stole items around 12:03 p.m

At approximately 1:10 p.m., officers took a report of a burglary of a 2024 Lexus RZ 6300 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

4 Friday

Officers arrested two men and a woman for drunk driving and public drunkenness after stopping their 2022 Chevy Silverado around 2:24 a.m Douglas Ave.

A burglar attacked an unlocked 2019 Land Rover Preston Rd around 5:41 p.m

A handbag poacher stole a black Louis Vuitton handbag from a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Preston Rd around 5:57 p.m

At approximately 11:57 p.m., a juvenile was cited for driving under the influence after being pulled over in a 2004 Lexus LX 470 Druid Alley.

A stylish crook broke the window of a 2022 Cadillac Escalade to steal items including a PURPLE BRAND T-shirt and jeans around 8:30 p.m Preston Rd.

HIGHLAND PARK

30 Monday

A thief gutted a woman’s Land Rover Range Rover and stole her Celine carrier bag while she was dropping off her laundry at the laundry before 1:29 p.m 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.

Reported at 3:56 p.m.: A man heard a noise that may have come from a Lexus hitting vehicles nearby Intersection of Cornell Avenue and Byron Avenueor could have simply been caused by the Lexus running over a piece of heavy plastic.

1 Tuesday

A joyrider took off in a 2023 Audi Q7 that was parked in a driveway 3900 block of Miramar Avenue before 3:57 a.m. after the owner’s son may have left the key fob inside.

A would-be car thief may have been left disappointed after breaking the window of a 2024 Porsche Macan 3400 block of Beverly Drive and put a key fob in the ignition before 4:27 a.m. A keyless fob had to be in the vehicle for it to work.

Report at 8:05 a.m.: A thief stole $20, two phone chargers and a plug from a 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class that may have been left unlocked in the car 3100 block of St. Johns Drive.

At approximately 2:09 p.m., police arrested a man for trespassing and resisting arrest 5000 block of Holland Avenue.

2 Wednesday

A bike thief stole a neon green Specialized men’s mountain bike from a garage in the city around 12:20 p.m 3500 block of Potomac Avenue.

A sneaky villain stole a North Face backpack, two laptops, Kendra Scott jewelry, a keyboard, over-ear headphones and a prescription bottle from a 2020 BMW X5 SUV that was mostly locked as its owner made multiple trips to and from Whole Foods undertook in 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.

3 Thursday

An inattentive young driver crashed into his neighbor’s fence as he backed a Toyota Tacoma out of his garage while searching for gas stations on his cell phone 3300 block of Beverly Drive before 12:10 p.m

Reported at 12:36 p.m.: A mail robber laundered two checks totaling $3,250 that had been mailed by a local resident 3600 block of Cornell Avenueissued it to a fraudulent recipient and redeemed it.

Reported at 1:33 p.m.: A tree in the 4500 block of Rheims Place was damaged after possibly being hit by an XPO Logistics box truck.

A group of shady thieves left Moncler behind Highland Park Village with a pair of $500 sunglasses they hadn’t paid for around 2:17 p.m

A thief stole a garage and tailgate remote control and a car diagnostic device from a vehicle in the area 3500 block of Dartmouth Avenue before 3 a.m

Police arrested a man for drunken driving near the intersection around 4:50 a.m St. Johns Drive and Wycliff Avenue.

6 Sunday

Police arrested a man for burglary of a motor vehicle around 3:11 a.m 4300 block of Lomo Alto Drive.
