Muslim Youth League protests against “Police Criminal Raj”

The Muslim Youth League (MYL) marched to the district police chief’s office here on October 7 (Monday) and protested against the police’s “criminal links with Raj and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)” and the alleged anti-movement of the Chief Minister -Malappuram noted .

Hundreds took part in the march organized by the MYL District Committee. Inaugurating the march, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) general secretary PMA Salam alleged that the Home Ministry has become a camp of mafia groups.

The protesters demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for disgracing his position by supporting the RSS agenda on trade with Malappuram district and its people.

Police stopped the march with barricades and used water cannons to disperse protesters as they tried to break through the barrier.

The meeting was chaired by MYL District President Shareef Kuttoor and General Secretary Mustafa Abdul Latheef welcomed the meeting. The protesters raised slogans against a group of police officials, accusing them of trying to denigrate Malappuram district by increasing the number of cases.

IUML district secretaries Noushad Mannissery and Anvar Mullampara, youth league national organizing secretary TP Ashrafali, CK Shakir, Muslim Students’ Federation national president Ahamed Saju, state president PK Navas and youth league treasurer Bava Visappadi spoke.

Meanwhile, the IUML state committee has decided to organize nationwide protests on October 17 against the alleged mafia links of the LDF government. Protest marches are being held in all district centers. Mr Salam said the Chief Minister protected ADGP Mr Ajit Kumar despite numerous protests against his alleged RSS links and discontent within the government front. He accused the chief minister, former minister KT Jaleel, and CPI(M) state secretary MV Govindan of constantly trying to antagonize Malappuram.
