Sally Field describes “illegal” teenage abortion and sexual assault during the procedure

Sally Field is speaking out about her own “illegal” abortion experience ahead of the November election…and hopes her story resonates with voters.

The Oscar winner shared her “traumatic” story in a video posted to Instagram on Sunday evening, in which she confirmed that she became pregnant at 17, shortly after graduating from high school.

As she put it…she had no family support or financial means to carry through the pregnancy, so a family doctor arranged to take her to Mexico so she could have an abortion.

Sally remembered driving across the border with the doctor, his wife and her mother and parking three blocks away “on a really run-down-looking street” in Tijuana. The actress said she was handed an envelope full of cash and told to come back to her GP as soon as everything was sorted.

She remarked… “I guess he thought if I died he might be able to help me.”

Sally went on to describe a harrowing experience in which she received “no anesthesia” during what she called a “horrendous and life-changing” abortion.

Sally said she was only given a few puffs of ether during the ordeal, which left her arms and legs numb. Ultimately, she experienced everything… including the pain and the moment the technician molested her.

She added… “I had to figure out how to move my arms to push him away? So it was just this absolute disgrace.”

As the proceedings came to an end, Sally said she was chased out of the building as if it was “on fire”.
