Game 2 New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies odds, preview and prediction

After a solid pitching duel in Game 1 on Saturday, the New York Mets are looking to break through with their bats on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies and starter Cristopher Sanchez

Sanchez has the largest home-and-away differential of any playoff pitcher who has logged at least 80 innings. At home, he posted a 2.21 ERA with fewer than 0.5 home runs per nine innings allowed compared to a 5.02 ERA on the road, although he still only allowed 0.6 home runs per nine innings on the road .

Top MLB Resources:

The Mets counter with an offense that had a .254 batting average on the road this season, ranking seventh in the league and scoring nearly 4.8 runs per game, ranking eighth in that category.

Both teams also have shaky bullpens. From July 1 through the end of the regular season, the Mets’ bullpen ranked 21st with an ERA of 4.34, while the Phillies ranked 23rd with an ERA of 4.49.

The Philadelphia Phillies’ offense ranks fourth in the league in home runs hit per hit, while ranking second with nearly 5.1 runs per home game during the regular season.

Mets starting pitcher Luis Severino will try to keep the Philadelphia Phillies hitters quiet. He was far worse away from home than at home, posting a 2.96 ERA at home compared to a 4.96 ERA away from home between his regular season and postseason appearances.

With Severino having allowed at least three runs in four consecutive starts and both teams having explosive offenses and bullpen issues, there will be a lot of runs scored in Game 2.

MLB Pick: Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets by 7.5 runs
