Waunakee man killed in Vienna town crash identified

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday released the name of a Waunakee man who died in a rollover crash on September 29th.

The coroner said 30-year-old Steven Hellenbrand died at the scene.

The accident occurred shortly after midnight in the 6500 block of Schumacherstrasse in the city of Vienna. The road was closed for approximately five and a half hours while officers investigated.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was ejected from the vehicle, according to officials.

Preliminary results of a forensic examination show that he died from the injuries he sustained in the accident. Further testing is underway.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office continue to investigate this death.
