Darbhanga: Tragic motorcycle accident in Darbhanga claims three lives | Patna News

Patna: Three youths were killed and one seriously injured in a two-bike collision on Benipur-Biraul main road (SH-56) near Maliya Chowk under Bahera police station area Darbhanga district on Monday. Two drivers died on the spot and the third succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Darbhanga Medical College Hospital (DMCH), police said.
According to police, three people were on a bicycle and the impact caused another rider to fall onto the road. A van coming from the direction of Biraul smashed into the three, killing two on the spot and seriously injuring the third. The fourth person, who was on the other bike, was taken to DMCH.
After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and sent the bodies to DMCH for post-mortem. After the accident, locals blocked the Benipur-Biraul road and demanded compensation to the families of the deceased.
Chandrakant Gauri, SHO of Bahera police station, said, “The victims have been identified as Chandan Kumar Yadav (18), his cousin Prakash Kumar Yadav (17) and Sunny Kumar (19). The injured man has been identified as Sanjeev Ram, a resident of Rohar under Kusheshwarsthan police station.”
According to the SHO, Chandan, his cousin Prakash and Sunny were returning home from Biraul on a bike when they were hit by a van traveling at high speed. The bike was badly damaged in the accident.
