Tragic incident: Elderly woman swept away by floods in Udupi | Mangaluru News

Udupi: A woman was dragged away flood following heavy rain at Mudradi in Hebri on Sunday. The deceased is Chandru, 80.
In a complaint, her son Sudhakar said that his mother was visually impaired. She had been living in her daughter Gulabi’s house for two months. On October 6th at around 3 p.m., she set off for her ancestral home without informing anyone. Unfortunately, she was caught in the heavy rains that had caused flooding and was swept away by the floodwaters. After searching for her, her body was found hanging from a tree in Balladi river near Nekkarebettu in Mudradi village at 9.30am on Monday. A case has been registered.
