Former Dallas star Mike Ribeiro pleads guilty to indecent assault

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – Former Dallas star Mike Ribeiro pleaded guilty to indecent assault in Franklin County on Monday.

The NHL player was accused of sexually assaulting two women and attempting to assault a third woman on his Lake Cypress Springs property in June 2021.

In January, a jury found him not guilty of two sexual assault charges. When the jury could not reach a conclusion on the third count, a mistrial was declared.

The lesser charge of indecent assault is a Class A misdemeanor.

The victim made a direct statement to Ribeiro after the verdict, saying:

“I pray that your family and your children never have to suffer such pain.”

District Attorney Will Ramsay thanked all the women who face scrutiny in trials like this.

Ribeiro received credit for one day in jail and was ordered to pay a $4,000 fine.
