Podcast: Billie Jean King explains how athletes can win off the field

Despite everything she’s learned in more than 50 years of changing the sports landscape, Billie Jean King’s advice to aspiring players is pretty simple.

“When athletes come to me and say, ‘What should I learn?’ What should I do?’ I say, ‘Learn the business, learn the business,'” King says in the season premiere The deal with Alex Rodriguez and Jason Kelly from Bloomberg Podcasts and Bloomberg Originals. King, after whom the home of the US Open in New York City is named, won an incredible 39 Grand Slam titles in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Her Battle of the Sexes victory over Bobby Riggs was documented in a 2017 feature film starring Emma Stone and Steve Carrell.
