Man dies in rollover crash near Kalispell

KALISPELL — A 44-year-old Somers man died in a weekend accident in the Flathead.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 5:50 a.m. on October 5, 2024 at the intersection of Foys Canyon Road and Orchard Ridge Road outside of Kalispell.

MHP reports the victim missed a curve on Foys Canyon Road, went off the road and into a ditch. He then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the road and then overturn.

The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and trapped underneath. The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the MHP report, alcohol was believed to be a factor in the accident.
