TBI is investigating the officer-involved shooting on Isherwood Lane

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – According to KCSO, officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a possible prowler near Isherwood Lane Monday morning.

KCSO Communications Director Kimberly Glenn said officers responded to the 8000 block of Isherwood Lane at 6:34 a.m. and shots were heard in the neighborhood shortly after. When officers arrived, they reported finding an armed male suspect.

SWAT and the bargaining unit were called to the scene, Glenn said.

According to Glenn, the suspect was shot by a KCSO deputy a short time later and the incident is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

KCSO said TBI is leading the investigation in accordance with KCSO policy for officer-involved shootings.
