Taylor Swift overtakes Rihanna to become the richest musician in the world

With an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion, Taylor Swift is now officially the richest musician in the world. The pop star has overtaken Rihanna ($1.4 billion net worth) and is currently only behind Jay-Z ($2.5 billion net worth) on the overall list of richest musicians.

Swift could potentially be the one to take over Rihanna’s previous title as the “richest female musician of all time” with a net worth of $1.77 billion. This was confirmed by Forbes following the success of her Eras Tour.

According to Forbes, $600 million of Swift’s fortune comes from tour revenue and royalties, another $600 million comes from the value of her music library, and $125 million comes from real estate investments.

Swift is estimated to have earned a total of $100 million in royalties from Spotify streaming alone in 2023, largely from the 2022 album midnight and 2023 addition of 1989, 1989 (Taylor’s version).

Their Eras tour will conclude at the end of this year, which will mark the end of the European leg in August. Before ending the tour in Canada, she will begin her final leg in the United States on October 18.

Unlike other musicians, Swift owes her fortune primarily to her musical career. She is the only artist in history to have reached a ten-figure net worth primarily through album sales and live performances, unlike several businesses that others have.

The music sensation recently endorsed US Vice President Kamala Harris in the race for the White House, which angered Donald Trump and he said she would “pay a price” for it.
